4130 fittings and flowline iron for the Bakken
Bakken iron has to hold pressure at temperatures that make ordinary steel brittle. We supply 4130 parts heat treated and Charpy tested for the cold, for Williston, Watford City and the rest of the Williston Basin.
We supply Bakken operators, frac and service companies and distributors with flowline iron and AISI 4130 parts made for low temperatures: hammer unions, integral pups, swivel joints, plug valves, API 6A flanges and 4130 pipe and fittings, quenched and tempered and Charpy impact tested at the temperature your winter work needs, with API 6A temperature class K or L where it applies. Parts are made in India and shipped to Williston and the Williston Basin.
What the Bakken asks of high-pressure iron
Cold. The National Weather Service records lows of -50 °F at Williston in December and February, and North Dakota's record is -60 °F. Steel that is tough at room temperature can turn brittle at those temperatures, so parts that are rigged and pressured in winter need proven toughness at low temperature: a Charpy impact test at -50 °F (-46 °C) or lower, written into the order.
API 6A puts the same requirement into its temperature classes: class L covers -50 to 180 °F (-46 to 82 °C) and class K -75 to 180 °F (-60 to 82 °C). Order flanges, studded blocks and valves to one of them, and union iron, pipe and fittings with matching impact tests. Elastomers matter too: seals and swivel packing must stay flexible in the cold. The Bakken produced about 1.2 million barrels of crude oil a day in 2025, around 9% of US output.

We have no US office or US stock: every order is made to your line list and ships from India with its EN 10204 3.1 certificates, packing list and commercial invoice. Your customs broker files the entry and confirms the duties. The steps, documents and marking rules are in ordering from India.
Working across time zones
India Standard Time is 10 hours 30 minutes ahead of Central time in summer and 11 hours 30 minutes ahead in winter, so our working day in India falls during your night. Email sales@vixonpiping.com or WhatsApp +91 74338 71355 at any hour, and send drawings and line lists with the request so nothing waits for a second round of questions. Dickinson and the southwest of North Dakota are on Mountain time, one hour behind Williston.

Frequently asked questions
What Charpy temperature should we order?
The lowest temperature the part will see under pressure, from your own specification. For North Dakota winter work, -50 °F (-46 °C) is common, matching API 6A temperature class L; class K parts are tested colder.
Is 4130 tough enough for the cold?
Quenched and tempered 4130 has good low-temperature toughness when it is heat treated correctly, which is exactly what the Charpy test on each heat proves. Normalized material is less tough, so order quenched and tempered parts for winter service.
